Stamford, NY - Known as the "Queen of the Catskills" gets its nickname form the Great Hotel Arear of the late 1800's. At that time, there were over a dozen hotels in Stamford. These hotels were serviced by direct railroad transportation from New York City. The Belvedere Hotel is the only existing hotel today left from that great era. |

The Belvedere was dormant for many years until 1967 when the Gibbons family purchased the hotel. Now with a continuous program of renovations and updates, the Belvedere Country Inn & Restaurant offers country inn hospitality, ambience and that "welcome home again" friendship and camraderie of a by gone era. |

Located in the Northwest Catskills, the Belvedere Country Inn is centrally located for the New York City and Albany residents and is near a host of tourist attractions. The panoramic views and scenic magnificence has long been compared to the mystic Irish countryside. Historically, the Belvedere Country Inn has been, and continues to be a family-oriented inn, operated by the family that grew up with and love for the Belvedere. We have hosted thousands of families that have learned to ski together. There are programs promoted by the Belvedere Country Inn and Scotch Valley Ski area. In fact, it is not unusual to find a patron talking about the good times and good memories they, or their fathers had while staying at the Belvedere. |
